Defending the Laboratory

Laboratory Guardian 2 puts players inside a secure research facility that has been overrun by mutant creatures. The goal is simple: survive each area by eliminating every hostile creature and then finding the exit. The game combines quick aiming with resource management, so success depends on more than just shooting. Developed by G55 and released in December 2025, it runs on WebGL for smooth browser performance without downloads. Full-screen support is included. The game is rated for ages 12 and up.

Movement, Aiming, and Survival

Players move through the laboratory using standard keyboard or mouse controls. The blaster is the primary tool, but ammunition is limited and reloading takes time. Mutants attack in groups, so standing still is rarely an option. When a creature gets close, the player takes damage, shown on a health bar at the bottom left. If health reaches zero, the round ends. The core loop is to keep moving, aim carefully, and reload only when safe. Clearing an area means defeating all creatures, then locating the way out to advance.

Managing Two Critical Resources

Health and ammo are the two resources that shape every decision. Wasting bullets on distant or unclear targets leaves the player vulnerable during a swarm. Retreating to a safe spot to reload is often smarter than firing until empty. The health bar provides constant feedback, so players can judge when to push forward and when to fall back. This tension between offense and self-preservation gives the game a strategic layer beyond simple reflex shooting.

Practical Tips for New Defenders

Keep moving to avoid being surrounded. Aim for clear shots and conserve ammunition. Use reload moments to reposition. Learning how different creatures approach helps anticipate attacks. Regular practice improves reflexes and decision-making, which leads to longer survival and further progress.
